ABOUT

OUR VISION

The Structural Engineering Institute (SEI) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is a unique and vibrant community of more than 20,000 members. The mission of SEI is to advance and serve the structural engineering profession. To that end, the SEI Board of Governors believes that serving the profession includes stewardship of its future, establishing a vision and acting upon that vision to ensure the health and vitality of the profession through carefully selected strategic initiatives.

The path to the future of the structural engineering profession includes defining the vision for the future, understanding the current practices and challenges, and identifying the way forward to bridge the gap. Read more about our Future

Specifically, the SEI Mohawk-Hudson Chapter seeks to unite current and future structural engineers to build support and  encourage growth and development within our local community. Established in 1996, SEI advances our members' careers, stimulates technological advancement, and improves professional practice. SEI drives the practical application of cutting edge research by improving coordination and understanding between academia and practicing engineers.
